"I never thought I could afford the cost of going on a trip through NSCC International," Brittany shares. Thanks to the awards, she participated in her first international experience through the Culture, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Professional Skills Program in St. Kitts & Nevis – a project funded by Global Skills Opportunity, the Government of Canada’s Outbound Student Mobility Pilot Program. During the experience, she developed leadership skills and presented on African Nova Scotian culture and heritage.

Farewell from the Global Skills Opportunity Program
Despite an impressive track record and our best advocacy efforts, the federal government has not renewed funding for Global Skills Opportunity. As a result, the program officially ceased operations March 31, 2025.
