Launch of the GSO Ambassador program

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) Ambassador program!

Over the next few months, 15 enthusiastic GSO Alumni — seven from universities, eight from colleges — from across the country will help promote and celebrate the GSO program. As we seek renewed funding beyond March 2025, these Ambassadors will be key in showcasing the program’s impact on Canadian students’ education, careers and lives.

Throughout their mandate, the Ambassadors will participate in various events and activities related to the GSO program. They will also share the benefits of their experiences on their social media channels, helping to increase the program’s visibility and tell its story through their unique voices and experiences.

The Ambassadors will also play a vital role in building a dynamic GSO Alumni community by facilitating discussion groups and answering questions on the Alumni Hub. If the program is renewed (fingers crossed), they will also assist in selecting the next cohort of Ambassadors.

Farewell from the Global Skills Opportunity Program

Despite an impressive track record and our best advocacy efforts, the federal government has not renewed funding for Global Skills Opportunity. As a result, the program officially ceased operations March 31, 2025.
