Bridging Barriers – Virtual Language Learning and Cultural Collaboration

Bridging Barriers designed three components to engage students, instructors, and alumni with virtual experiences for outbound cultural collaborations. The project successfully implemented the following:

  • Virtual Partnership Program – connecting members of the Selkirk Community (internationally and locally) to participate in intercultural exchanges with zoom and iLearn support site .
  • Virtual TESOL Practicums – provided opportunities for the TESOL students to experience virtual classrooms for children, teenagers and adults.
  • Virtual Community of Practice – developed an iLearn LMS site to connect the growing TESOL community (current and alumni) at Selkirk College with ongoing and future opportunities
