Developing Global Education Opportunities in Degree Breadth Curriculum at Sheridan College

This project initiated the development of a sustainable, accessible international education program within Sheridan College’s cross-college liberal arts elective curriculum and built capacity for further adoption of the method across the college. Using COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), curricular partnerships were formed with international institutions by pairing pilot courses from Sheridan’s Degree Breadth Elective pool, which were then assessed via student surveys. Capacity for further COIL curriculum adoption was built through the creation of a local asynchronous training module for future faculty, live workshops, membership in international COIL consortia; and access to specialist consultants expert in the methodology.
