Estamos: A cohort-based international experiential program

Estamos is a cohort-based international learning program of Canadian Mennonite University which aims to develop intercultural competencies and global citizenship in students through academically rigorous and service-learning frameworks. In the 2022 pilot, a cohort of students will travel to Guatemala for one month. Students will participate in learning tours, Spanish lessons, live independently with local host families for two weeks and complete one week of service learning. In subsequent years, this program will be expanded to a full semester (three months in-country) to maximize cultural engagement, language learning, academic coursework, work-integrated learning placements and a final collaborative project.
