Increasing Access to Study Abroad Opportunities for Students: Understanding and Reducing Barriers

This project aimed to understand barriers and facilitators to study abroad opportunities among students from various equity groups. The project engaged in retrospective data gathering and analysis, through data collection, by creating a portrait of students who currently go on exchange. The project investigated barriers and facilitators to study abroad opportunities that are faced by students from diverse equity groups, through focus groups with students from diverse equity groups and stakeholders at McGill. Results from the focus groups have generated strategies and recommendations that will inform the development of more inclusive policies and practices.
