Indigenous Study Abroad Collaborative Framework ISACF

Under the guidance of our Indigenous partner, Musqueam, we take an Indigenous-led approach to relationship building and outbound program development. Building on an existing relationship between Musqueam and Ngapuhi (New Zealand), our project explores how PSI’s can support global Indigenous relations, culture and protocol as an act of reconciliation. An objective of the Pilot Project at snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara College (SNLC) has been to explore a decolonizing approach to education abroad, such that outbound programming does not perpetuate neocolonial ideologies and instead centres Indigenous students, communities, and worldviews by increasing culturally relevant and culturally safe mobility opportunities for Indigenous students.
