Intercultural Learning for Students by Students

Saint Mary’s University launched a peer support project through which a group of students were hired as Global Learning Ambassadors and began the work of promoting international learning opportunities to all students but with special emphasis on those with disabilities and of indigenous backgrounds. Their work included in-depth research on partner institutions so that various accessibility issues were considered and reflected in the curation of outbound mobility information. The Ambassadors also attended discussions and activities to enhance their intercultural competencies and knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals so that they can continue to foster welcoming communities beyond their university career.
