Portage College is a rural Alberta college with greater than 45% Indigenous students. Large steps have been taken in 2020-2021 to develop an International Strategy, that includes virtual and physical international experiences and is approved by our BOG. Portage was successful in acquiring the Outbound Mobility Grant and this funding was used to complete research that assisted in the development of guidelines and best practices. This grant support is used to hire an International Support Person who assists in the development of programming and funding also is used for both virtual and physical experiences.
