International Service and Leadership: Accessible Work Integrated Learning for Health and Human Service students

Selkirk College and the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, BC’s indigenous college, will collaborate to provide an international opportunity to students in Health and Human Services programs who would otherwise face significant barriers in participating in an international component of their program. Selkirk and NVIT will work with the Women’s Resource Outreach Center in Jamaica and the Sunrise Center in Uganda alongside local professionals in the nursing and human service fields in elementary schools, gender-based violence prevention programs, and community health outreach programs. College practicum credit will be granted for this international experience.
