This project will create opportunities for Red Deer Polytechnic learners within the Practical Nursing Diploma and the Bachelor of Sciences, Biology programs to engage in transformative experiential learning in international settings. Through these outbound experiences, participants will develop a sense of global citizenship, social responsibility, and intercultural competence. In the Practical Nursing program, participants will complete their final 8-week clinical in an international setting. In the Bachelor of Sciences, Biology program participants will earn an Applied Study credit by volunteering on a turtle conservation project with The Rescue Center for Endangered Marine Species (CREMA) in Costa Rica.
