St. Thomas More College Latin American Field School

The Latin American Field School presents an opportunity for students to engage with issues of solidarity, justice, charity and globalization in a timeframe that works for them. Through short-term and mid-range education abroad opportunities, students can live with, and learn from, innovative farmers’ cooperatives such as La Cooperativa La Esperanza de Los Campesinos in Panama or La Federacion de Campesinos Hacia El Progreso in Dominican Republic. Students develop a sense of moral responsiveness and educated solidarity through a combination of theoretical knowledge and lived experience. This can be experienced either through short-term field study or long-term experiential learning opportunities.
