Students Leading Students: an intercultural mentor support program

This project builds on the University of Winnipeg’s Innovation Project, “My Intercultural Journey.” New funds will grow our undergraduate exchange program, with particular focus on underrepresented groups: indigenous, low-income and newcomer students, and those with accessibility needs.

We will develop an online exchange alumni network by providing financial stipends to those who share their journey. This will establish a diverse network of peer advisors, while also providing financial support. Some students will become official program mentors, offering active outreach to future exchange students.

New wraparound supports will help students understand intercultural skills gained from exchange and how they apply to the workforce.
