Understanding and Addressing Barriers to Participation in International Mobility at the University of Manitoba

Aims to create a baseline understanding of the systemic barriers that prevent underrepresented students from participating in outbound student mobility. This funding provided the University of Manitoba with an opportunity to hire a graduate student researcher for three months to start the process of conducting focus groups, community outreach/consultation and compile reports with initial recommendations on what systemic barriers need to be reduced and how to increase representation. The results will be used to inform future outreach and communications strategies to prepare to reach underrepresented students in the next phase of the Pilot.
