What I’ve been doing since my GSO experience

My GSO experience opened doors for me that I didn't even know existed. Upon returning home, I got a job working with international students at my university, and began pursuing my Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certificate. I also volunteered and worked as a tutor, a buddy, and an Instructor's Assistant. My GSO trip also gave me the confidence to complete part of my teaching practicum in Vietnam, a trip I never would have considered had it not been for my fantastic experience in the GSO program. This program also gave me insight and perspective that helps me to relate to and better understand the students that I teach.

Fun facts about me

During Covid I started beekeeping with my dad

Being a part of the GSO program was a horizon broadening experience. I have always been interested in traveling abroad, but it was never an option. Through the GSO program I was able to go to Spain, experience life in another country, and interact with another culture. I had the chance to see the world from another point of view.
